Job summary

Sundt Enterprise seeks a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts, acting as the main liaison with design teams and owners. The role supports multiple delivery methods and requires strong takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid closeout skills across civil/infrastructure and highway projects.

Responsibilities include detailed quantity take-offs, quotes, and supplier bid packages, with oversight of junior estimators.

Qualifications

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• LEED accreditation and DBIA certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Ten or more years of experience in an estimating role.
• Successful history executing projects as the prime point of contact with minimal oversight.
• Ideal candidates will have project experience in one or more key market sectors identified by the business unit.

Responsibilities

• Advanced level HCSS knowledge of estimate entry and quote system tools.
• Estimate all scopes related to their discipline area of expertise.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs on bid items and materials to develop cost estimates.
• Estimate unit costs by analyzing crew composition, production rates, and equipment selection.
• Participate in detailed reviews, providing thorough explanation of estimate.
• Utilize cost history database to verify production rates.
• Prepare supplier bid packages to ensure self-performed work has competitive quotes.
• Coordinate junior estimators and interns with takeoff and vendor solicitation processes.
