Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks an Estimating Manager to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, understand project size and scope, and prepare a comprehensive estimate and proposal for targeted projects.

You will prepare, review and submit bids on time, develop quantity take-offs, assist with execution plans and win strategies, manage subcontractor input, participate in bid reviews, and maintain client relationships with Business Development to pursue opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM, architecture or engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years' estimating/design/field management experience.
• Experience with take-offs and construction estimates.
• Familiarity with subcontractor coordination and bid processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain status of and review bid documents, submitting bids and estimates in a timely manner.
• Prepare complete quantity take-offs to build estimates.
• Assist with execution plans and win strategies.
• Prepare thorough, detailed and well-annotated estimates.
• Prepare thorough proposals with bid forms and supporting docs.
• Solicit and manage subcontractors and vendors during preconstruction.
• Participate in peer bid review and contract reviews for compliance.
• Follow up on prior bid projects and update status weekly.
• Assist project manager with questions about the estimate.
• Cultivate client relationships and support Business Development in pursuing opportunities.
