Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role emphasizes construction safety expertise, continuous learning, and collaboration across disciplines.

You will enforce OSHA and Layton safety policies, assist in incident investigations, and provide site safety orientations and trainings. A dedicated safety professional with strong communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with a minimum of 3 years in construction or industrial health and safety.
• OSHA 510 – Construction Safety certification is required.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED within the last two years.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour Construction and STS certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous learning and ESH competency development.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety standards and delivers predictable outcomes for teams and customers.
• Ensures construction safety policies align with OSHA and Layton standards.
• Assists ESH Manager in investigating accidents and near misses.
• Monitors workers’ compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Provides site-specific safety orientations and pre-construction safety meetings.
• Supports injury management and ensures access to industrial medical care.
• Conducts industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit testing.
• Delivers safety training to site personnel and participates in Safety Committee meetings.

Education

BA/BS preferred with 3+ years in construction safety

OSHA 510 – Construction Safety

First Aid, CPR, AED certification

OSHA 30-hour Construction

STS certification

Strong interpersonal skills
