Job summary

North Carolina State University seeks an Ergonomist or Senior Ergonomist to contribute to health and safety initiatives across NC and beyond. You will lead consulting projects, deliver training, develop client relationships, and contribute to applied research in the university's Ergonomics Laboratories.

The role offers opportunities to grow expertise while collaborating with professionals, regulatory officials, and industry partners across the United States, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field plus 3 years of field experience OR Master's degree in Ergonomics or related field plus 1 year of field experience.
• Certification in ergonomics with AEP/CPE preferred or plan to achieve within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience assessing physical work areas using evaluation techniques (RULA, NIOSH LME, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead ergonomics consulting projects across varied business environments.
• Deliver Center training classes.
• Develop client relationships and proposals with timelines and outcomes.
• Mentor junior ergonomists and coordinate with Center professionals and external partners.
• Collaborate on applied research projects in NC State's Ergonomics Laboratories.
