Job summary

NC State University seeks a Health and Safety Specialist to deliver OSHA training and provide expert safety consultation across North Carolina. You will develop training materials, support SEOTI Education Center initiatives, and engage with clients to improve workplace safety standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of safety experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to travel throughout North Carolina and surrounding states.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of workplace safety experience in either general industry or construction; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical or regulatory information clearly to varied audiences.
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver OSHA Training Institute Education Center courses, including OSHA-authorized trainer courses, update courses, and topic-specific technical courses in both in-person and virtual learning environments.
• Provide customized occupational safety and health training, workplace safety assessments, and consultation services for manufacturing, construction, government and service industry employers.
• Develop, revise, and maintain instructional materials, presentations, online learning content, and other training resources that support classroom and virtual learning.
• Participate in program planning, customer engagement, outreach activities, conferences, meetings, and special projects that contribute to growth and revenue generation.
