Qualifications

• 2 years of experience operating maintenance and/or construction equipment.
• Substitutions for experience may be satisfied by related college education or technical training (year-for-year).
• Must have a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for equipment operation at the time of application.
• Knowledge of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work and operate light and heavy highway equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of heavy equipment (grader, excavator, bulldozer, crane, dump truck).
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and minor repairs.
• Train other staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Assist with traffic control and emergency response operations.
• Maintain reports (time-keeping, PMI, inventory) and documents.
