Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Post Maintenance office. The role involves operating heavy equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting traffic control and emergency response.

A valid Texas CDL and driver’s license are required, with prior experience in maintenance or construction equipment operation. Work is onsite in Garza County; the position offers standard full-time hours with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in maintenance and/or construction equipment operation.
• Must have a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License for equipment operation at time of application.
• Knowledge of safety standards and operation of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as tractor-trailer haul truck, motor grader, excavator, bulldozer, crane, herbicide truck, paving machine, and dump truck.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine servicing on equipment.
• Train other employees on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Assist with traffic control, accident-site support, and emergency response as needed.
