Texas Department of Transportation in Lampasas, TX seeks a skilled Equipment Operator I to manage roadway maintenance and operate a range of heavy equipment. The role involves supporting emergency response, controlling traffic, and maintaining records.

Candidates should have one year of relevant experience and hold a Texas CDL for equipment operation. Responsibilities include operating tractor-trailer haul trucks, excavators, graders, and other machinery, with potential training of other staff

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in maintenance and/or construction equipment operation.
• Related college education or relevant technical training may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Must have a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License for equipment operation.

Responsabilités

• Assists in providing support to local law enforcement at accident sites.
• Assists with traffic control and setup of cones and barricades.
• Monitors and completes various required reports (time-keeping, PMI checklists, etc.).
• Operates light equipment and several heavy machines as needed.
• Operates heavy equipment for complex transportation maintenance and roadway repairs.
• May coordinate equipment operations for daily work assignments.
