Texas Department of Transportation in Cooper, TX is seeking an Equipment Operator to maintain bridges and roadways, operate heavy and light equipment, and support emergency response efforts. Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, traffic control, and documentation of PMI and inventory.

A valid CDL and ability to respond quickly are required. The role involves day shifts, full-time duties, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Formación

• 1 year experience in maintenance and/or construction equipment operation.
• Valid driver’s license (state vehicle operation).
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License for equipment operation at time of application.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to report for duty within 45 minutes of notification.

Responsabilidades

• Drive a state vehicle to assist in sanding or cleaning bridges and roads during emergencies or as directed.
• Provide support to local law enforcement at accident sites and assist stranded motorists.
• Operate light equipment such as front-end loader and other listed machinery.
• Set up traffic control with cones, signs, and barricades; manage traffic flow.
• Complete timekeeping, PMI, and equipment/inventory reports; maintain records.
