Job summary

CS Power Systems in Jeffersonville, Indiana, is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer II to own the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing equipment for our solar cell production line.

You will lead cross-functional projects, mentor engineers, drive preventive and predictive maintenance, and partner with vendors to improve uptime and throughput in a 24/7 factory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic, mechatronic, or related field.
• 7+ years in equipment engineering with Solar Cells, Semiconductors, or Electronics.
• Extensive expertise in solar cell production equipment including screen printing, PECVD, diffusion, wet benches, and metallization.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale equipment projects and implement advanced technical solutions.
• Strong analytical skills with RCA, SPC, FMEA, DOE, and Fishbone Analysis.
• Exceptional leadership and mentoring capabilities with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; collaborate with internal teams and partners.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel, work extended hours, and support 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues to minimize production disruption.
• Develop and oversee maintenance strategies for preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors on large-scale equipment projects.
• Serve as SME for solar cell production technologies and equipment optimization.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Mentor junior/mid-level engineers and promote technical excellence.
• Drive safety improvements and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Present reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Support 24/7 operations during tool recovery efforts.
