Job summary

University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking a Senior Hospital Applications Analyst (Epic Trainer) to lead planning, development, implementation, and support of clinical information systems. You will design testing strategies, maintain project plans, and develop comprehensive training materials for end users.

The role requires Epic certification within 6 months, 3+ years in information systems, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; health-related discipline preferred.
• 3+ years in information systems, preferably from patient care environment.
• Must complete Epic application certification within 6 months of training.
• Ability to maintain and assist in managing project work plans.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; good organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides analysis, design and support of hospital systems, including testing, training, implementation and ongoing support.
• Documents, communicates and assists in problem determination and resolution.
• Updates and maintains detailed project plans.
• Interacts with end users, vendors and other related areas to gather requirements and compile data.
• Assists in installation of software/hardware and ensures standards compliance.
• Develops and maintains user training materials and documentation.
• Delivers effective user training to increase proper system usage.
• Performs technical resource planning and supports project teams.
• Works with user community to deliver satisfactory project-level service.
• Contributes to policy and procedure formulation for department.
