Job summary

University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking a self-directed IS professional to plan, develop, implement and support clinical information systems. The role works independently to analyze, test and implement procedures, and to develop training materials under university policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include system design, testing, training, and coordinating with users and vendors to gather requirements and ensure standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or related area.
• 3 years of information systems experience, preferably in patient care.
• Must complete Epic certification within 6 months of training.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and assist in project work plans.

Responsibilities

• Provides analysis, design and support of hospital systems, including testing, training, implementation and ongoing support.
• Documents, communicates and assists in problem determination and resolution.
• Updates and maintains detailed project plans.
• Interacts with end users, vendors and related areas to gather requirements and compile data.
• Assists in installation of software/hardware systems and ensures standards are met.
• Develops and maintains documentation for training and build documents.
