Job summary

UAB Medicine, Alabama’s largest health system, is seeking an Epic Applications Analyst to participate in analysis, design, and ongoing support of Epic software integral to clinical operations. You will maintain stakeholder relationships and optimize performance to support healthcare delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in IT or related field and 6 years of healthcare application support experience, plus Epic certification within 12 weeks of training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field; six (6) years of healthcare application support experience required.
• Epic certification in area of support or certification obtained within 12 weeks of completing Epic training with no more than two (2) testing attempts required.

Responsibilities

• Leads identification and evaluation of business needs; gathers requirements for clinical workflows.
• Provides advanced troubleshooting, visualizations, and documentation to analyze and monitor current clinical system functionality and Epic requests.
• Leads multiple projects of varying complexity; guides peers to follow change control processes and document Epic changes.
• Defines system performance criteria and guides operational practices of clinical applications; mitigates risk.
• Guides investigation of system enhancements and best practices for Epic system operations.
• Assumes on-call duties; develops procedures for 24/7 user support across hardware, software, and processes.
• Leads cross-project efforts; ensures proper change control and documentation of Epic system changes.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, security, and applicable regulations; participates in annual training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
