Job summary

Aurora is seeking a quality-focused engineer to oversee the integration of the driver kit into OEM vehicles, performing End of Line tests and leading cross‑functional teams to eliminate risks. This role is based on-site at a partner facility in Livonia, MI and involves hands-on testing with Aurora’s self-driving trucks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software, testing protocols, and Linux tooling, with the ability to analyze data and generate actionable reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a related engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience in quality, autonomous vehicle manufacturing, robotics or related.
• Strong understanding of embedded software concepts.
• Experience with programming and scripting (C++, Python or equivalent).
• Experience with testing and characterizing communication protocols such as TCP/UDP, CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, UART.
• Ability to interpret complex system architecture, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site at partner facility in Livonia, MI.
• Design, develop and implement test plans for hardware operation verification.
• Deploy scripts/software to test systems and analyze data.
• Troubleshoot and debug system and component-level failures.
• Coordinate cross-functional solutions with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Assist manufacturing teams and technicians with hardware issues.
