Aurora is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Hardware Systems and Safety Organization to develop and drive field investigations, test design, and remediation strategies across autonomous vehicle platforms.

The role requires leading complex diagnostics, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and traveling to operations sites up to 30% of the time. A strong background in systems engineering and test planning is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Mechatronics/CS with 6+ years’ relevant experience, or a Master’s with 4+ years.
• 2+ years of industry experience in systems engineering.
• 2+ years of industry experience in system test planning and execution.

Responsibilities

• Field & Fleet Triage: troubleshoot from symptoms to causes and provide system context.
• Lead End-to-End Field Investigations from bug escalation to root cause and remediation.
• Investigative Test Design & Execution to replicate anomalies in controlled settings.
• Remediation Strategy Development & Deployment including firmware or architecture updates.
• Scalable Sustaining Processes to streamline bug escalation and root-cause analysis.
• Production & EOL Support for issues at the production facility; handoff to production.
• HIL Test Bench Troubleshooting with automated test scripts and diagnostics.
• Travel to Aurora Operations locations (30% of total time).
