Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Staff Hardware Reliability Engineer to lead reliability efforts for next-generation hardware systems and ensure the robustness of the Aurora Driver. You will collaborate with partners and drive rigorous reliability programs to support scalable deployment of autonomous hardware.

In this role, you will lead DFMEA sessions, develop predictive models, and translate results into design and manufacturing improvements for mass-produced automotive systems.

Qualifications

• Experience validating hardware products such as compute systems and sensors.
• Deep understanding of physics of failure for electronic and mechanical components.
• Proven ability to design and execute reliability test flows for manufacturing.
• Experience applying root-cause analysis to inform design improvements.
• Track record improving reliability of mass-produced assemblies and coordinating with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hardware Reliability Assessments and testing campaigns for internal and external designs.
• Own Failure Analysis and implement corrective actions for reliability issues.
• Drive DFMEA sessions and craft action plans based on testing.
• Develop predictive reliability models across climates and road conditions.
• Collaborate with design, systems, safety, operations, and contract manufacturers to apply findings.
