Job summary

RTX in Goleta, California is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with EO/IR surveillance and targeting sensor systems experience to plan, manage, and deliver multidisciplinary engineering activities onsite.

You will lead requirements, verification plans, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration across Systems, Test, Software, and Mechanical teams, while ensuring cost, schedule, and performance commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years in EO/IR systems.
• Hands-on design, analysis, development, troubleshooting, and testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with PCE, LSE, and IPTL to ensure cost, schedule, technical quality, and performance.
• Provide systems engineering leadership for EO/IR programs including requirements management and verification planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Systems, Test, Software, Firmware, Mechanical, Electrical, and IC engineering.
• Manage engineering risks and opportunities with IPTL, LSE, and PCE.
• Coordinate inputs for proposals and present bid summaries to management.
• Guide technical support for production and development activities.
• Lead trade studies and technical analyses for stakeholders.
• Communicate findings to leadership and customers.
• Lead teams in resolving hardware, software, and system issues via data analysis.
• Oversee requirements, concepts of operations, and system interfaces.
• Prepare documentation for SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, CTSR, and test data packages.
• Develop product specifications and manage requirements including subassembly requirements.
