Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Goleta, CA site. The role focuses on airborne and space EO/IR surveillance and targeting sensor systems, with onsite work in Goleta and a requirement to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

You will lead multidisciplinary engineering activities, manage budgets, guide follow-through of work products, and support bid and proposal activity within Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or a related advanced degree with 3+ years in EO/IR surveillance systems.
• Experience designing, analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, and testing systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering for EO/IR surveillance programs and define verification plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Systems, Test, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, and IC engineering.
• Coordinate inputs for proposals and present bid summaries to management.
• Develop and maintain requirements, operations concepts, and system interfaces.
• Prepare documentation for formal reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and test data packages.
