Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of next-gen RF and EO/IR sensor systems for national defense programs. This onsite role requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.

The position involves collaboration across systems, software, and hardware teams, plus leading small work efforts and communicating progress to senior engineers in a fast-paced environment. Travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of systems engineering experience with radar/EO-IR algorithms.
• Proficient in MATLAB, Python, C/C++ and related programming languages.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate RF DSP algorithms using simulated and real data.
• Model sensor phenomenology for RF and EO/IR systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on real-time software, modeling, and field demonstrations.
• Develop automated analysis tools to process large RF sensor data and tracker measurements.
• Lead small work efforts and report progress to the lead systems engineer.
