Job summary

ERM in New York, NY, is seeking a Managing Consultant, Environmental Project Manager to lead complex site investigations and remediation programs under CERCLA and RCRA. You will mentor junior staff, manage client relationships, and drive technical excellence across power, manufacturing, and chemical sectors.

You will guide projects from planning through execution, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while exploring innovative remediation technologies and strong business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related discipline is required.
• At least 4+ years of progressive project management and technical experience in site investigation/remediation under CERCLA, RCRA and state programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
• Environmental field experience and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Driver's license required; travel to client locations across a large geographic area.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety protocols.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediments.
• Plan and oversee field activities: sampling, drilling, well installation, vapor intrusion assessments, and site characterization.
• Review and interpret environmental data, develop conceptual site models, and prepare technical reports and work plans.
• Evaluate remedial alternatives and negotiate cost-effective closure strategies with regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior staff, delegate tasks, and engage technical experts to maximize client value.
• Support business development through proposals, presentations, and client relationship management.
• Champion innovation by integrating new technologies to improve project efficiency and outcomes.
