Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Indianapolis, Indiana, seeks a Principal Consultant, Site Investigation and Remediation, to lead complex investigations and remediation programs for diverse clients, navigating CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulations while delivering practical, cost-effective solutions.

You will provide technical leadership, project management, and business development, mentor teams, expand client relationships, and advance ERM's Site Investigation and Remediation practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in environmental science, geology, engineering, or related discipline.
• 6+ years of project management experience.
• Proven business development with repeat client engagements.
• Established client contacts and ability to grow opportunities.
• Advanced knowledge of local regulatory climate and negotiation skills.
• Experience in site investigation and remediation involving soil, groundwater, soil vapor, LNAPL and DNAPL.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification.
• PCB expertise and PCBs remediation knowledge.
• Regulatory experience with EPA Regions 5 and 7; TSCA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand client relationships to grow SIR services.
• Provide technical leadership on site investigation and remediation projects.
• Design remedial solutions using traditional and emerging technologies.
• Coordinate field work and environmental sampling activities.
• Review data, develop site models, and prepare reports and scopes of work.
• Support cost-effective closure strategies and regulatory negotiations.
• Lead safety planning and mentor junior staff.
• Prepare technical proposals and contribute to business development.
