Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead complex environmental planning and compliance projects in Lafayette, LA. You will manage routing/siting studies, NEPA documentation, and FERC projects while mentoring staff and growing HDR’s environmental practice.

You will develop proposals, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and ensure high-quality deliverables across multiple projects and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience leading complex environmental planning and compliance projects, including routing/siting and NEPA.
• Strong knowledge of NEPA processes and managing large EA/EIS documents.
• Proven ability to develop proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules for multidisciplinary projects.
• Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and analytical skills.
• Staff mentoring and leadership experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a wide variety of environmental regulatory permits, routing/siting projects, FERC projects, and NEPA documents.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, and agencies to ensure on-time delivery and quality deliverables.
• Supervise project staff, mentor junior staff, and build client relationships to grow HDR’s environmental practice.
• Develop proposals, scopes of work, and man-hours; collaborate with marketing for opportunities
• Manage project financials including cost estimates, budgeting, invoicing, and tracking performance
• Provide guidance and communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
