Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager – FERC Pipeline Lead to oversee environmental permitting and NEPA work across multiple locations. You will lead teams through FERC processes, develop client relationships, and manage budgets and schedules for complex pipeline projects.

The role requires deep NEPA knowledge, experience with FERC 7(b)/7(c) filings, and demonstrated leadership in environmental consulting. Travel to client sites will be periodic as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environment Science or closely related field.
• 10 years experience in complex environmental planning/compliance projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the NEPA process.
• Experience managing large, complex EIS documents for transportation or large projects.
• Strong writing, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Project Manager for environmental studies, permitting and NEPA.
• Lead and direct teams through FERC environmental processes for assessment and permitting.
• Develop client relationships and identify new opportunities for growth.
• Oversee proposals, budgets, invoicing and project financials.
• Coordinate schedules, QA/QC, and resolve technical issues on deliverables.
• Direct field surveys, data interpretation and environmental analysis.
• Prepare permit applications and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure high-quality work through QA/QC.
