Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager in Asheville, NC to lead complex environmental consulting projects and act as a technical advisor to clients in private and public sectors.

The role requires strong Phase I/II ESA expertise, regulatory compliance knowledge, and the ability to manage scope, budgets, and schedules while mentoring junior staff. BLE emphasizes a collaborative approach and client-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressive environmental consulting experience.
• Experience managing complex environmental projects from scope through regulatory closure.
• Professional registrations such as PG, PE, CHMM preferred.
• HAZWOPer certification (40-hour) preferred where applicable.
• Experience with Phase I & Phase II ESAs and environmental due diligence.
• Experience with Brownfields and regulatory programs.
• Strong understanding of soil, groundwater, and risk assessment.
• Experience in field investigations and data interpretation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for various properties.
• Lead Phase II ESAs and follow-up investigations.
• Manage environmental due diligence related to property transactions.
• Develop investigation strategies and communicate findings to clients.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
• Maintain regulatory coordination and client communication throughout projects.
