Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) in Spartanburg, SC seeks an experienced Service Leader – Environmental Due Diligence to manage Phase I/II ESAs and Brownfields redevelopment. Lead projects, mentor staff, and grow the due diligence service line, reporting to the Department Manager.

The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in real estate and transactional due diligence, with knowledge of federal/state cleanup programs and client relationship management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field.
• Professional registration or certification preferred (e.g., PE, PG, CHMM).
• 5+ years of experience in environmental due diligence projects.
• Strong understanding of ASTM Phase I/II ESAs and AAI requirements.
• Familiarity with Brownfields programs and redevelopment planning.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute ASTM-compliant Phase I ESAs, Phase II investigations, and Brownfields assessments.
• Oversee work plans, sampling strategies, and technical reports.
• Ensure timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and technical quality.
• Serve as primary client contact for developers, lenders, attorneys, and public agencies.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and assist in proposals.
