Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an experienced Program/Project Coordinator, Senior in Environmental Policy and Legislative programs to support the Public Works & Environmental Services Department. You will lead environmental policy development, advocacy, and cross‑agency coordination for resilience, energy, and water initiatives.

You will develop grant applications, oversee procurement, manage contracts, and support state/federal programmatic opportunities while monitoring

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, environmental planning/science or closely related field.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
• Experience managing programs/projects with County-wide impact preferred.
• Experience building relationships with public, private, and academic partners preferred.
• Familiarity with climate mitigation/adaptation policy at state/federal levels is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and evaluates programs with County-wide impact; prepares reports and analyzes data.
• Coordinates and manages all aspects of large programs with significant budgets and obligations.
• Assists leadership by researching issues, creating memoranda and policies, and monitoring compliance.
• Conducts research and recommends policies based on data and stakeholder input.
• Maintains relationships with state/local agencies, partners, and the public; coordinates outreach and media relations.
• Prepares Commission agendas and provides staff support for trainings and outreach.
