Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Capital Program Administrator (Resilience Engineer) to lead resilience initiatives within the Public Works & Environmental Services Department in Broward County, Florida. This senior role focuses on implementing the county-wide resilience plan, administering resilience grants, and guiding capital infrastructure projects to reduce flood risk.

Preferred candidates will have a strong engineering background, experience with water

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, hydrology, and environmental sciences or closely related field.
  • Requires six (6) years of experience in capital project management, design and/or engineering based on the area of assignment.
  • Experience with water infrastructure, hydrology, grant management or resilience planning is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and negotiates construction and consultant contracts; oversees master plan studies, amendments, change orders, and work authorizations.
  • Prepares budget estimates, analyses and documentation for projects; provides direction and options analysis in construction and development.
  • Leads meetings with consultants and contractors to review progress and manage all aspects of the project; reviews invoices and payment requests; supports annual budget requests.
  • Establishes a QC/QA program to standardize project management processes and improve quality and performance.
  • Coordinates with internal support agencies and external stakeholders; ensures reporting in conformance with audit standards.
