Job summary
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an Environmental Project Coordinator to support the Environmental Permitting Division. The role involves coordinating large-scale environmental programs, research, permitting, data analysis, IT integration, and compliance.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in environmental fields and at least two years of relevant experience, including leadership.
Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor's degree in environmental planning/science or closely related field.
- Two years of environmental/natural resource experience, including one year in lead/supervisory roles.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Assist program manager overseeing the Aquatic and Wetland Resources (AWR) Program and ERP program operations to ensure timely reviews.
- Coordinate SPGP/404 program reviews with regulatory timeframes and liaise with FDEP, ACOE, and other agencies.
- Review licenses/permits for consistency with laws and prepare environmental reports and data calculations.
- Train staff in processing Environmental Resource License applications and permit procedures; QA/QC licenses and permits.
