Job summary

Ulteig seeks a Senior Environmental Specialist to lead environmental compliance efforts across federal, state, and local regulations for diverse sectors. The role supports projects, manages field work, and engages with agencies and clients nationwide.

The candidate should bring NEPA/CEQA expertise and strong communication. Opportunity to work from the Sacramento office or remotely within the Southern California region, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental science, planning, biology, or related field.
• 15+ years of related experience (advanced degree may count toward experience).
• Strong knowledge of NEPA/CEQA and major environmental statutes.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to prepare NEPA/CEQA documents and environmental permit applications.
• Provide oversight of investigations, data interpretation, and monitoring projects.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and clients and mentor junior staff.
• Develop proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
