Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Specialist to help ensure compliance with NEPA, ESA, CWA, and other regulations for diverse projects across Lifeline Sectors. The role can be based in MN/IA/WI region or remote within that region, with occasional travel.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, prepare and review environmental reports, support permit applications, and contribute to business development by engaging clients and developing proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, planning, policy, biology, wildlife, or related field
• 15+ years of related experience (advanced degree may count toward experience)
• Strong knowledge of NEPA, ESA, CWA, CAA, NHPA, CERCLA, RCRA regulations as they relate to environmental review and permitting
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Effective time-management, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams, building relationships across groups
• Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps
• Willingness to travel occasionally with overnight stays
• Willingness to apply evolving technology and AI tools to improve workflows
• Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to prepare NEPA and environmental reports and permit applications
• Provide oversight and interpretation of data for investigations, mitigation, or monitoring projects
• Organize field efforts for wildlife, botanical, water, and related surveys
• Communicate scientific information to project teams
• Prepare and review environmental reports and related materials
• Assist clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance
• Develop long-lasting client relationships through quality support
• Engage new clients via networking, marketing, and service
• Prepare proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets
