Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Consultant with 10+ years of experience to join our Earth & Environment Team in the Pacific Northwest. The role supports Site Investigation & Remediation and Environmental Health and Safety business lines, with offices in Portland, Tigard, OR and Vancouver, WA.

This leadership role emphasizes client development, project management, and technical oversight of EH&S and remediation projects, with occasional travel and mentoring responsibilities for junior staff.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety and Occupational Health or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years post-education experience.
• Minimum of 4 years business development experience; government and/or private sector experience preferred.
• Staff management and leadership ability.
• Project management experience with deliverables, schedules and budgets.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
• Experience with environmental site investigations, remediation, field management, and sampling programs.
• Familiarity with MS Office suite (SharePoint, Excel, Word).
• Collaborative approach to cross-market service lines and larger projects.
• Track record of workplace safety and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new clients for WSP’s environmental business.
• Manage environmental health and safety projects from site characterization to remediation.
• Conduct data analysis and reporting for environmental tasks; recommend remedial solutions.
• Provide technical review to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance and standards.
• Travel to project sites within the Pacific Northwest with limited overnight travel.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate group assignments as needed.
• Direct field and office technical assignments for SIR and EH&S staff.
• Oversee proposal preparation, including technical approaches and pricing.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates.
