Job summary

CDM Smith in Hawaii is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to support water-related projects for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists on design, review, and implementation of water and wastewater systems.

You will contribute to the development of designs for facilities, pipelines and pumps, and ensure compliance with regulations while collaborating with clients to meet evolving project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• 5 years of related experience.
• EIT certification or FE exam eligibility within 18 months.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve basic to moderately complex engineering designs for water and wastewater facilities, pipelines and pump stations.
• Ensure all project designs comply with state and local regulations.
• Apply firm policies and best practices across engineering deliverables.
• Conduct site visits and technical studies to verify design requirements.
• Collaborate with sales and client service teams to prepare proposals in response to RFPs.
• Meet with current and prospective clients to understand evolving design needs.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff.
