About the Role

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater projects to join our client's growing team. This role involves hands-on engineering design, technical analysis, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and compliant solutions for municipal and industrial water/wastewater systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in civil and mechanical process design, an eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively with project managers, regulatory agencies, and clients from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations and designs using technical expertise and judgment to translate concepts into construction drawings and specifications.
  • Provide sketches and/or detailed layout information to design staff for plan and drawing development.
  • Deliver project-specific technical input for incorporation into project specifications and documentation.
  • Prepare civil and mechanical process drawings for agency submittals.
  • Draft written communications for clients and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Research and interpret relevant codes, manuals, and design standards.
  • Verify design computations and details to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and hydraulic modeling software for project deliverables.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and inform design work.
  • Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and administrative staff during all project phases to ensure conformance with technical standards.
  • Seek guidance on complex or unfamiliar technical challenges from senior team members.
  • Prepare draft technical specifications, reports, and correspondence.
  • Participate in client meetings and collaborate with project stakeholders.
  • Stay current with trends and innovations in wastewater engineering through professional development.
  • Foster cooperative relationships with team members, clients, and partner organizations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and hydraulic modeling software.
