Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead water and wastewater design efforts, manage project teams, and ensure regulatory compliance across facilities and pipelines. The role involves site visits, technical studies, and collaboration with clients to shape design outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering degree with EIT/FE, 5 years of related experience, and willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline; EIT or FE within 18 months; 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency contingent on duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve basic to moderately complex engineering designs for water and wastewater facilities, pipelines, and pump stations.
• Ensure all project designs comply with state and local regulations.
• Apply firm policies and best practices across engineering deliverables.
• Conduct site visits and technical studies to verify design requirements.
• Update project design criteria as needed throughout development.
• Contribute to technical leadership through papers and conference presentations.
• Collaborate with sales and client services to prepare proposals in response to RFPs.
• Meet with clients to understand and support evolving design needs.
• Represent CDM Smith at conferences to enhance visibility and client relationships.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior staff.
