Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an environmental engineer to support a wide variety of environmental projects with experience in solid waste/landfill design and permitting, and construction in North Carolina.

As a member of the team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by maintaining liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization and assisting the Sales groups with new business development activities within your areas of expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 18 months of hire.
• 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining liaison with individuals and units within or outside organization. Assisting the Sales groups with new business development activities within your areas of expertise.
• Developing as a leader of technical and professional staff. Mentoring lower-level employees. Planning, coordinating, and directing several projects or a major project.
• Directing the work of a staff of engineers and scientists. Evaluating progress and recommending major changes.
• Conceiving, planning, and conducting research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity.
• Serving as the technical specialist in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for an assigned area.
• Keeping abreast of new methods and developments to recommend program changes.
