Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer in the United States. You will lead and contribute to sediment remediation projects for federal and public-sector clients, evaluating remediation technologies and designs for diverse settings.

Ideal candidates have a PE license and at least 7 years of related experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to lead teams. Travel up to 10% may be required, and a US driver’s license is assumed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment and contaminant transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as task manager on components of sediment sites, communicating strategy to client and collaborating with SMEs.
• Liaise with clients, public, and outside consultants; communicate complex evaluations to non-experts.
• Lead staff in preparing/reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
