Job summary

HydroGeoLogic, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineer III to support large mining environmental remediation projects in the western US. The role involves developing remediation designs, interfacing with EPA and state agencies, and overseeing PRP activities and RA contractors.

You will contribute to remedial design documents, manage field sampling, and ensure safety and compliance across projects. Travel up to 50% may be required; office locations include Billings or Helena, MT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field such as Mining, Environmental, Chemical, or Civil.
• Minimum 6 years of related environmental industry experience.
• Knowledge of CERCLA, DoD, DOE, EPA, and/or RCRA projects.
• Strong technical writing and documentation experience with remedial design and project requirements.
• Ability to conduct inspections, document status, and maintain records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering studies, plans, designs, and specifications for remediation of environmental contamination.
• Oversee PRP activities and interface with managers, senior staff, and clients.
• Prepare project submittals and technical memos.
• Review specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents and safety requirements.
• Draft and maintain work plans and deliverables (UFP-QAPPs, FSPs, RI/FS Reports, SSHP/HASPs).
• Communicate deficiencies and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Conduct field sampling and QA/QC on projects; travel up to 50% as needed.
