Job summary

Hydrogeologic, Inc seeks an Environmental Engineer III to support large-scale mining remediation and construction projects in the western US. You will work with a high-performing team and support projects for USEPA and Montana DEQ, including PRP oversight and remedial design.

The role requires a minimum of 6 years in environmental engineering, a relevant engineering degree, and strong writing skills. Office-based work in Billings or Helena, MT with up to 50% travel and field responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of related environmental experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering field (Mining, Environmental, Civil, Chemical).
• Knowledge of CERCLA, DoD, DOE, EPA, and/or RCRA projects.
• Strong technical writing for remedial design documents.
• Ability to conduct inspections and maintain records.
• Working knowledge of federal/state regulations.
• Ability to prepare daily reports and communicate findings.
• Excellent interpersonal communication with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word in MS Office.
• Team-oriented in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering studies, designs, and specs for remediation.
• Provide PRP oversight and interface with managers, government, and RA contractors.
• Review specifications, drawings, and work plans for compliance.
• Prepare work plans and project deliverables (UFP-QAPPs, RI/FS, SSHPs).
• Support field tasks including QA/QC and sampling as needed.
• Travel up to 50% within the U.S. to support projects.
