Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation is seeking an experienced HSE professional to lead environmental compliance and continuous improvement at the Calvert City facility. The role requires coordinating the CERCLA/remediation project with site stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

The position emphasizes strong collaboration, project management, and expert knowledge of environmental regulations relevant to petrochemical manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or related field.
• 10 years of progressive environmental, operations, maintenance, or engineering experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations as applicable to petrochemical plants and general manufacturing.
• Strong collaboration, facilitation, organization, interpersonal and computer skills, with a good working knowledge of related databases and applications, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capable of developing and managing multiple projects.
• Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity and accountability.
• Possesses conflict resolution skills to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and engaged leadership within Calvert City HSE Team.
• Act as subject matter expert for Calvert City HSE Team and collaborate with manufacturing stakeholders to influence site improvement plans.
• Interact with governmental officials, third party subject matter experts, in-house and outside counsel, third parties and other departments to meet site requirements.
• Work with line organization to integrate environmental concepts into daily activities.
• Manage record keeping and coordinate with subject matter experts and counsel on legal requirements applicable to the site.
• Coordinate CERCLA/Remediation Project activities, maintain records, and assimilate internal data for compliance actions.
• Coordinate strategies to maintain/restore compliance, including adherence to EPA/KDEP regulatory and permit requirements.
• Promote safety and report Safety, Health or Environmental issues to Sr. Manager - HSE.
• Perform all other duties as directed by Sr. Manager - HSE.
