Job summary

Westlake Chemical in Calvert City, KY is seeking an experienced environmental professional to lead the HSE program within the PEM Team. The role emphasizes development of policies, procedures, and proactive management systems to ensure environmental compliance and continuous improvement at the Calvert City facility.

You will collaborate with site manufacturing units, interact with officials and counsel, and coordinate CERCLA/remediation activities while advancing site-wide compliance and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or related field.
• 10 years of progressive environmental, operations, maintenance, or engineering experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations as applicable to petrochemical plants and general manufacturing.
• Strong collaboration, facilitation, organization, interpersonal and computer skills, with a good working knowledge of related databases and applications, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capable of developing and managing multiple projects.
• Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity and accountability.
• Possesses conflict resolution skills to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and engaged leadership within Calvert City HSE Team.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for the Calvert City HSE Team, including collaboration with manufacturing stakeholders to influence site improvement plans and actions.
• Coordinate all activities associated with the CERCLA / Remediation Project, maintaining recordkeeping and coordinating action plans for compliance.
• Coordinate strategies that maintain existing compliance and develop aggressive action plans to return to compliance if needed.
• Possess or Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential from the Transportation Security Administration.
