Job summary

The Chemours in La Porte, TX is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead the site's environmental program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while aligning with corporate policies. This senior, independent contributor role focuses 80% environmental and 20% safety, reporting to the Plant Manager and serving as a trusted advisor to the La Porte Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical discipline (chemical or environmental engineering) or related field.
• 5+ years in high-hazard chemical or petrochemical manufacturing (environmental support).
• Solid knowledge of RC14001, RCRA, NPDES, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act.
• Experience with environmental regulatory reporting (SARA 312/313, MACT, etc.).
• Experience preparing waste characterization for off-site disposal.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and leadership as the site environmental resource.
• Lead compliance efforts for CWA, NPDES, SPCC, Storm Water, groundwater, RC14001 program management.
• Manage on-time reporting to federal, state, and local agencies.
• Participate in regulatory audits and plant staff audits.
• Develop environmental procedures and training curricula.
• Travel infrequently (less than 25%).
