Job summary

Ashland is seeking a Senior Environmental Assistant for our Calvert City, Kentucky facility. This individual will support environmental compliance programs, regulatory reporting, and data management to enable safe, reliable plant operations.

The role reports to the Environmental Manager and focuses on documentation, reporting, and program coordination with emphasis on continuous improvement and data integrity within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting environmental compliance programs in a manufacturing/industrial/chemical environment.
• Experience with RCRA hazardous waste management and manifest administration.
• Experience with Clean Water Act compliance, including NPDES/KPDES permits and DMR reporting.
• Experience administering SPCC, Tier II, chemical inventory, or related programs.
• Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and electronic document management systems.
• Experience maintaining regulatory records, compliance databases, and environmental reporting documentation.
• Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.
• Ability to drive value by understanding the business and making informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary administrative resource for site environmental compliance programs and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain records and coordinate waste management program activities including profiles and disposal documentation.
• Administer environmental data and compliance tracking systems, including SAP and other tools.
• Compile and maintain wastewater compliance data and support regulatory report submissions (DMRs).
• Maintain SPCC Plans, Groundwater Protection Plans, and Stormwater BMP documentation.
• Administer chemical inventory systems and support Tier II reporting.
