Job summary

Ashland Inc. is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer for our Calvert City, Kentucky plant. This high-visibility role reports to the Operations Manager and focuses on optimizing production, safety, quality, and cost control across production units.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years in chemical manufacturing, with expertise in process engineering, troubleshooting, PSM, and capital budgeting. Travel within Kentucky and the U.S. may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering, troubleshooting, PSM, Management of Change, capital budgeting and project cost control.
• Capable of responding to site emergencies and evacuating as directed.
• Willing to travel within Kentucky and across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production metrics for production units assigned (safety, environmental, quality, production rates, yields).
• Establish annual departmental goals with the Operations Manager.
• Review daily batch production operation and perform troubleshooting to maintain capacity.
• Identify and implement cost-saving projects; serve as Area Representative on projects.
• Perform process optimization to maximize quality and minimize operating costs.
• Monitor day-to-day yield and process performance to maximize output.
• Work within capital and fixed budget guidelines on all projects with cost controls.
• Collaborate with Operators, Engineers, Supervisors and site personnel to improve process control systems.
• Participate in safety and environmental initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with R&D/Pilot Plant on new products including qualification and validation.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient department function.
