Job summary

NexGen Data Systems seeks a senior Storage and Enterprise IT Engineer to lead storage, backup, and disaster recovery efforts for a large, multi-division organization. You will design frameworks for risk assessment, implement DR runbooks, and manage lifecycle of NetApp/Pure storage with Cohesity, Veritas, and cloud storage tiers across on-prem and hybrid environments.

You will mentor teams, drive automation via scripting and IaC, and ensure audit readiness with DISA STIGs/IAVA.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and managing enterprise SAN/NAS
• DoD or Federal enterprise IT environments experience
• Experience with data protection platforms and cloud storage
• Scripting/Automation for storage provisioning and backups
• Ability to communicate complex designs to leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise storage, backup, and BC/DR architecture
• Design risk assessments and DR runbooks across on-prem and hybrid cloud
• Architect storage arrays (NetApp, Pure) and fabric switches (Brocade)
• Oversee data protection operations (Cohesity, Veritas) and cloud tiers (AWS/Azure/OCI)
• Implement storage security controls and compliance (DISA STIGs, IAVA)
• Troubleshoot storage bottlenecks and backup anomalies; perform root cause analysis
• Drive automation using scripting and IaC for provisioning and policy enforcement
• Mentor engineering teams and review technical docs
