Job summary

SmartBear is seeking a seasoned Solutions Engineer in the Somerville, MA area to partner with enterprise customers, design modern software testing solutions, and lead discovery sessions, demos, and proofs of concept. You will translate requirements into scalable technical architectures and collaborate across product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams.

Strong experience in test automation, API testing, CI/CD, or DevOps, plus deep knowledge of QA practices and SDLC, is essential.

Qualifications

7+ years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, QA Engineering, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
Strong expertise in software testing, automation, QA practices, and the SDLC.
Experience delivering enterprise demonstrations and proof of concepts.
Hands-on experience with test automation, API testing, CI/CD, or DevOps.
Excellent consultative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Experience supporting SAP environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Partner with enterprise customers to understand business objectives and technical challenges.
Lead discovery sessions, demonstrations, workshops, and proof of concepts.
Consult on modern testing strategies across the SDLC.
Translate customer requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success.
Continuously improve demo environments and reusable technical assets.
