Job summary

BECU is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer to help shape the future of its lending and credit card technology ecosystem. You’ll bridge architecture and engineering, delivering scalable, secure solutions for members and partners.

You’ll lead design decisions, mentor teams, and drive modernization initiatives across Azure and modern distributed systems, influencing enterprise-level architecture and production excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years IT experience with enterprise application design.
• Experience with financial products (credit cards, mortgages, loans, deposits).
• Strong UX, integration, and API layer expertise for consumer finance.
• Cloud experience across Azure/AWS/GCP required; SDLC leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of enterprise-scale lending and credit card solutions.
• Translate business needs into detailed technical designs.
• Drive modernization and scalable, secure architectures.
• Shape cloud-first solutions for growth and resilience.
• Collaborate across architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot APIs and integrations.
• Improve production stability and balance strategic work.
• Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts for innovation.
• Influence technical direction and member experiences.
• Mentor engineers and promote industry best practices.
• Present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
