Job summary

Quinnipiac University is seeking a Network Technician to join the Information Services team. The ideal candidate will monitor and maintain the university's core and wireless network infrastructure, including Cisco/core and Juniper/WiFi, while supporting campus routing and switching operations.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work on-call, including evenings or weekends. A relevant degree (Associate’s required; Bachelor’s preferred) and at least three years of

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure.
• Hands-on with Juniper Wireless infrastructure and multiple routing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network health and perform routine maintenance of Cisco core/backbone and Juniper WiFi/access infrastructure.
• Support campus routing and switching operations and assist with configuration, testing, and maintenance activities.
• Assist with operation and troubleshooting of firewalls, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, load balancers, VPNs, and authentication appliances.
• Install, patch, inventory, and document network equipment in data centers and campus locations.
• Participate in upgrades, new installations, and other technology projects with the team.
• Maintain network security practices and escalate security concerns as needed.
• Document network configurations, locations, cabling, and troubleshooting steps clearly.
• Respond to service requests and incidents in collaboration with stakeholders and vendors.
