Job summary

Princeton University is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, operation, security, and continuous improvement of the University's enterprise network routing and switching infrastructure. You will help ensure availability, reliability, scalability, and security of mission-critical network services supporting research, teaching, and administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 7 years managing and supporting medium to large network routing, switching and security infrastructure.
• Experience with data center networks and security controls (ACLs, RADIUS, 802.1x).
• Familiarity with network management tools and incident handling processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze and verify scalability, performance, high availability, and data integrity for networking and security.
• Configure and update monitoring, alerting, and reporting for network services.
• Maintain documentation for networking and monitoring systems.
• Provide operational support for advanced network routing and switching services.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network incidents.
• Review and verify backup/restore procedures for network systems.
• Provide on-call support for network upgrades and maintenance.
