Job summary

Shentel is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer in Richmond, VA to deliver technical sales support to the Sales team and large Enterprise/Wholesale customers. You will articulate complex technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and help define product specifications and proposals.

You will collaborate with Project Management to deliver network solutions on time and within budget, participate in configuring networks, and train Sales on emerging technologies and trends.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in a relevant engineering or technology field preferred. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry experience will be considered.
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience in network architecture, including design, developing and implementing enterprise level networks.
• Self-motivated, able to exercise independent judgment.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
• Effective customer communications and customer service skills.
• Excellent problem solving and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales support to the Sales team for Enterprise and Wholesale customers.
• Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
• Identify and resolve technical issues to assure customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
• Collaborate with Project Management to deliver network solutions on time and within budget.
• Participate in top-level configuration of network systems and prepare technical and price proposals.
• Establish and maintain strong business relationships; develop technical solutions for prospects and customers.
• Create and present technical applications; conduct executive briefings and training Sales on emerging technologies.
• Identify opportunities and develop strategic technical solutions to prospects and customers.
