Job summary

West Virginia University Health System is seeking an IT leader to oversee enterprise infrastructure and applications, directing staff, coordinating across WVUHS sites, and aligning technology initiatives with clinical and business goals.

In this role you will shape IT strategy, manage budgets, drive performance, ensure data confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, and partner with executives to deliver reliable, secure systems that support patient care and organizational operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, CS, business, informatics, or related field; five years IT experience with two years in management.
• Associate’s degree with six years IT experience including two years in management.
• High School diploma with relevant IT certifications and eight years IT experience including two years management.
• Internal employees must meet mandatory competencies for promotion within IT.

Responsibilities

• Direct responsibility for enterprise IT support staff and cross-site coordination.
• Manage staffing levels, hiring, attendance, PDO approvals, and shift scheduling.
• Participate in capital and operating budgets for IT areas.
• Plan and coordinate IT initiatives with Site Managers and senior leadership.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, change control, and vendor contracts.
• Ensure disaster recovery planning and system security compliance.
